Byker Bridge Housing
Winter Survival Kits: The Centre relies heavily on donations of clothes and often runs low during winter. They see around 35 rough sleepers regularly over any period and wish to make up a kit for each rough sleeper comprising a sleeping bag, fleece, hat, scarf, gloves, socks, bag and flask.

Moving On
Young people’s group (Moving On’s Army) which helps young people break down the isolation of living alone: Moving On offers real practical advice, support and guidance to help young people secure, sustain and survive in their own accommodation. Last year they took over 130 referrals and worked with over 130 young people on an ongoing basis. They offer an advice and information service, pre-tenancy support service including a floating support service, two practice flats for young people, a resource flat on a local estate and offer small but practical schemes such as a tool lending service, starter packs and a community larder scheme.

Newcastle Women's Aid
Play room for children's project: A safe haven for women and children fleeing domestic violence. Women are either self-referred or referred from social services, health professionals and the police. They can stay as long as it takes them to get rehoused.

Kitchen equipment: Stepping Stones provides emergency access housing for ten homeless 16-21 year olds and accept those who are the most vulnerable in society who are not offered accommodation by other providers.

Cooking equipment and utensils: Offer hostel accommodation to 11 people in an old monastery, and a drop-in centre accessed by around 100 people a week.

The Tyneside Cyrenians
Structured health, fitness, harm minimisation and emotional well being activities programme: Activities will include healthy cooking and nutrition classes; football, Gym sessions and bike riding; harm minimisation classes; assertiveness classes. The programme will provide positive input into the often negative aspects of the lives of vulnerable people - particularly homeless offenders or those at risk of offending. The charity offers a range of services from direct access housing to independent living and they move service users through the chain towards resettlement.
