Dean and Cauvin Trust
Establish a hardship fund to enable the purchase of essential items of equipment for young people moving out of residential care to their own tenancy: Provides residential accommodation for young people aged 15-18 years in Edinburgh. The Trust provides a continuum offering through care and aftercare for young people when they leave the safety of the units and move into their own tenancies. These young people have little or no other support networks and have often come to the Trust as a result of some form of abuse in their childhood. Often they can wait up to six weeks to secure any grants that they are entitled to, leaving them unable to cook etc. The fund will enable the purchase of basic items like microwaves, crockery etc.
