Harvey Nichols' Square Mile outpost is the latest City fine-dining room to loosen its tie. The erstwhile banking hall is still imposing, but low sofas, & a tinkling piano in the evening, now provide an informal backdrop. The menu is short yet versatile, with tapas-style 'little picks' alongside conventional starters, so you might graze on mini chorizo with aïoli, potted shrimps with side salad, or choose moreish pumpkin ravioli with crisp sage, rocket & Parmesan. To follow, baked sea trout with steamed samphire & sautéed potatoes was beautifully cooked. Desserts – poached peach in Champagne soup with honey cream, perhaps – are presented with panache by courteous if unhurried staff. Prism's encyclopaedic wine list, meanwhile, contains plenty for high rollers.
