Last year restaurants in Leeds raised an excellent sum of £13,000. We anticipate a generous response to this year's StreetSmart campaign too, so make sure you're part of it.

StreetSmart is delighted that The Yorkshire Evening Post has agreed to become the charity's media partner in Leeds.
The Yorkshire Evening Post has pledged to support StreetSmart's campaign by highlighting participating restaurants and encouraging its readers to back the scheme by choosing to dine out at a StreetSmart restaurant in Leeds this Christmas.
Throughout the festive season the Yorkshire Evening Post will be enabling StreetSmart to raise awareness of its campaign to help the homeless in Leeds.

I am writing to ask you to join a campaign to help the homeless in Leeds.
The Yorkshire Evening Post is delighted to champion the cause of the StreetSmart Christmas project.
The beauty of StreetSmart is its simplicity: for two months of the year - November and December - the charity asks restaurateurs to add a voluntary £1 per table to customers' bills.
It doesn't cost a penny to participate in the campaign, but every penny donated in your restaurant will benefit hostels and projects in the Leeds area dedicated to helping the homeless.
During the StreetSmart Christmas 2006 campaign 550 restaurants raised £500,000 for the homeless in 15 cities across the UK.
More than £18,700 was raised in Leeds last year, benefiting city-based charities St George's Crypt and the Simon Community - but with your help this year will be even more successful. |
